Sir Robert Southwell (1635-1702)

Sir Godfrey Kneller (1646-1723) was a German painter who was working in England by 1676. He became one of the most important and sought after painters in London. He became the official court painter for William & Mary, Queen Anne, and King George. He maintained a large studio. Many of portraits attributed to Kneller were partially or completely painted by studio assistants.
