called Hannah Harrison Ludwell (Mrs. Philip Ludwell II, 1678-1731)
(probably 1710-1730)
Greensprings was originally built by Governor William Berkeley (1605-1677) in ca. 1645. After his death, it was inherited by his widow, Lady Berkeley, and Philip Ludwell, whom she married in 1680. The plantation stayed in the possession of Ludwell family descendants through the 18th century.
