Winterthur Decorative Art Photographic Collection (DAPC) records suggest that it may be Frances Parke Custis, daughter of John Custis IV and Frances Parke Custis. Frick Art Reference Library (FARL) suggests that it may represent Wilhelmina Byrd Chamberlayne, daughter of William Byrd II and Lucy Parke Byrd. It is unclear where these attributions originated.
