Dorothy Waller was the daughter of Benjamin Waller of Williamsburg. She married Henry Tazewell. She was likely painted in Williamsburg.

The subject wears a pale pink, Roman-style dress with a blue and gold sash around her waist, a rose at her breast, pearls in her hair, and a corded choker. She sits outdoors in a landscape with a bouquet of flowers in her lap.
