Elizabeth Gwynne Tayloe (Mrs. John Tayloe I, 1692-1745)

Elizabeth Gwynne was the daughter of David Gwynne and Catherine Gwynne. Her first husband was Stephen Lyde and her son by her first marriage was David Lyde. She married John Tayloe of Mount Airy and was the mother of John Tayloe II.

The subject wears a dark blue-gray wrap dress with two pearl clasps and pearls at her elbow. She wears pearl earrings. She wears a light gray drape around her right shoulder.
