John Gordon (1720-1780)

John Gordon was the younger brother and business partner of James Gordon of Gordonsville.

The subject stands wearing a blue jacket over a white waistcoat. He is turned towards his right. His right hand holds a cane or shepherd’s crook that rests on the base of a column. His left hand rests on his hip. He appears to be standing in a portico, a column is to his right.
