Ryland Randolph (ca. 1735-1784) of Turkey Island acquired portraits of Pocahontas and John Rolfe to hang in his house at Turkey Island. According to tradition, he learned of the existence of their portraits in England and requested to purchase them. He was sent them as a gift because he was a descendant. Pocahontas, who was baptized as Rebecca, married John Rolfe. Their only son, Thomas Rolfe, married Jane Poythress of Virginia. Their only child was Rebecca Rolfe who married Robert Bolling (1646-1709). Their son was John Bolling (1676-1729). His daughter, Jane Bolling, married Richard Randolph of Curles. They were the parents of Ryland Randolph of Turkey Island. The portrait is no longer extant.
