Peyton Randolph (1721-1775)

Date: ca. 1755-1758

Peyton Randolph was the son of Sir John Randolph and Susannah Beverley Randolph. He married Elizabeth Harrison of Berkeley. They lived in Williamsburg. The subject was also painted by Charles Willson Peale for the Williamsburg Masonic Lodge.

Dimensions: 36 1/2 x 29 in. (92.1 x 73.7 cm.)

The subject wears a brown jacket and waistcoat and wears a gray wig. A hat is tucked under his left arm and his right hand gestures to the left. He is turned three-quarters to his left.
