Susannah Everard was the daughter of Sir Richard Everard, governor of North Carolina. She married David Meade of Nansemond County in ca. 1731. Her children included David Meade, Jr., Mary Meade Walker, and Andrew Meade.
Dimensions: 34 x 26 1/2 in. (86.36 x 67.31 cm.)
The subject wears a gold Van Dyck-inspired dress with a blue breastknot. Her right elbow rests on a platform. A red drapery swag is on the left side of the painting.
