The subject of this portrait is unknown. It descended at Rosewell Plantation with Page family portraits. Some family histories call the subject Mann Page, who was painted in the 1690s or 1700s. However, it is often attributed to Charles Bridges and bears some resemblance to his 1730s portraits, which would make it too late to represent Mann Page I.
Dimensions: 29 x 23 in. (73.7 x 58.5 cm.)
The subject wears a green dress with a red belt. A red cardinal is perched on his left hand. His right hand points to the bird.
