Anne Pleasants Atkinson (Mrs. Roger Atkinson, ca. 1727-1776)

Subject married Roger Atkinson of Mansfield Plantation, located near Petersburg. Anne Pleasants was from the Pleasants family of Curles Neck in Charles City County. She was the mother of Thomas Atkinson.

Dimensions: 34 1/4 x 27 1/8 in. (87 x 68.9 cm.)

Subject stands with her arms crossed at her waist, wearing a dress with stomacher, a sheer fichu over shoulders, a black ribbon choker, and a cap tied under her chin. Behind her is a column and drapery swag.
