John Page (1744-1808)

John Page was the son of Mann Page II and Alice Grymes Page and the half-brother of Mann Page III and Elizabeth Page and Robert Page. He inherited Rosewell.

The subject sits outdoors and leans against a grass-covered stone plinth. He wears a gold jacket and trousers and a white or silver waistcoat. A queue ribbon is behind his neck. His left hand rests on his knee. His right hand holds a rifle upright. On the ground lie two dead Virginia quails, a powder flask, and a hat with a feather.
