William Beverley (1763-1823)

William Beverley was the son of Robert Beverley (ca. 1740-1800) and Maria Carter Beverley (1744-1815) of Blandfield.

Dimensions: 30 x 24 in. (76.2 x 60.96 cm.)

The portrait shows a little boy with curly blonde hair wearing a red suit. He has a black ribbon tied around his neck and his suit has silver buttons. He stands outdoors in a landscape pointing to distant water with his right hand. A cliff appears on the left side of the canvas. He is turned three-quarters to his left. According to the Frick Art Reference Library, the portrait is dated 1768 on the left side.
