William Brodnax (1674/5-1726/7)

Date: probably 1715-1723

William Brodnax emigrated to Virginia and settled in Jamestown. He married Rebeckah Champion and was the father of Edward, Elizabeth, and William Brodnax. The Jaquelin-Brodnax family portraits date to ca. 1720.

Dimensions: 30 x 25 in. (76.2 x 63.5 cm.)

The subject wears a gray wig and a gray jacket with matching gray waistcoat and silver buttons. He is turned three-quarters to his right. A hat is tucked under his left arm. His left hand is gloved and holds another white glove. He stands against a plain background.
